Hand Knitting and flatbed knitting, what's the difference?

Hand Knitting

Flatbed Knitting

Flatbed knitting is done by pulling the cart from left to right and controlling which hooks are being used, adding or subtracting the amount to change the shape of the cloth you are producing. This machine is best suited for creating large shapes or working with repeat pattern color work. This is all done as flat pieces and attached afterwards.

Knitting by hand is a slow process but it gives the designer much more control over the outcome of the product. when knit by hand there are thousands of different stitches ranging from simple K,P designs to cables and lacework.
