About Me

Haley Darling is an interdisciplinary artist and designer from Portland, Oregon. In 2025, Darling earned her degree in Fiber Arts and Experimental Fashion at MICA in Baltimore, Maryland. Haley focuses her work on garment design, bag design, soft sculpture, and wearable art through the mediums of knitting, weaving, sewing, beadwork, dye work, and more. Darling's work explores
themes such as femininity and girlhood, queerness, mental
health, and gendered violence. Her work helps the wearer
to become a part of the artwork. Physical bodies are a mere
canvas, but adornment is the paint. It’s how people
present themselves to the world. Darling utilizes
centuries-old techniques, blending them with
modern technological tools. She places value in
using natural fibers. She sees garment-making as
sculpture, where the body is the
armature.
